THE STORY RUNS DEEP
We have become increasingly accustomed to ongoing pain and aches, our society champions a “soldier on” attitude to health, perpetuated by the accessibility of painkillers. However, the human musculoskeletal system is a complex and interconnected system; imbalances in one area can affect other areas resulting in a cascade of delirious effects when not correctly assessed, treated and balanced.
Massage and myotherapy are time-honoured healing practices that encompass much more than just the manipulation of muscles. Through thorough assessment, targeted treatment and providing resources and prescriptive home exercises I aim to address underlying causes of pain and dysfunction to restore balance, mobility, and optimal function. This integrated approach to health aims to support your body’s innate healing wisdom, promoting holistic wellness on all levels.
NATUROPATHY
A holistic approach to health, acknowledging that everybody is unique.
At Rewilding Health, we firmly believe that true well- being is achieved through a comprehensive understanding of the mind, body and energetics; this holistic view embraces the body’s innate healing capacity and works towards restoring optimal function. We empower individuals to take an active role in their healing journey by providing education, resources, support, and collaboration on dietary and lifestyle advice, we believe that one cannot truly achieve health from a disempowered state. We strive to create a nurturing environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make informed decisions about their health.
We emphasize the importance of a balanced gut microbiome, through assessment of diet, lifestyle, physical symptoms, clinical signs, and comprehensive testing, we identify and then collaboratively address factors that may disrupt the balance of the gut microbiome. We believe in both individualised care and evidence- based recommendations on herbal remedies, supplements, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications to restore and optimise gut health.
At Rewilding Health, we embrace a holistic approach to health, we view everyone as unique, and each individual’s presentation of a specific illness as unique; by considering the individual as a whole rather than addressing isolated symptoms we aim to promote long- lasting optimal health. We employ comprehensive assessment to identify potential underlying causes including nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, gut health, and stress.Through a personalised treatment plan and evidence- based research we utilise herbal medicine, supplements, mind- body techniques and dietary and lifestyle modifications to support your mental well- being.
As an ANTA certified naturopath Lisa will ethically work within scope of practice; this may mean referral to your GP following assessment for blood tests, imaging, or collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is provided.

MYOTHERAPY
Considering of the person as a whole, including their lifestyle, stress levels, emotional well- being and the interconnectedness of the musculoskeletal system.
Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy that focuses on the assessment, treatment, management and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction; primarily where issues relate to muscles, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue.
At Rewilding Health we embrace a holistic viewpoint of the individual, acknowledging physical pain can have emotional and psychological implications. By considering the person as a whole, including their lifestyle, stress levels, emotional well- being and the interconnectedness of the musculoskeletal system, we aim to provide a comprehensive
treatment that addresses the root cause of pain rather than alleviation of symptoms. Through this approach we seek to aid in the bodies innate healing abilities, restore balance to the body and promote long- term healing.
Myotherapy can assist with a range of conditions and concerns including:
-
Muscular pain and tension: the relief of muscle pain and tension caused by factors such as muscle overuse, sustained maladaptive posture, stress or injury.
-
Chronic pain conditions: the management of chronic pain conditions including fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
-
Headaches and migraines: the assessment and targeted treatment of muscle- related factors that are contributing to headaches and migraines.
-
Postural imbalances: sustained maladaptive postures can lead to muscular imbalances and pain. Myotherapy assessment identifies and corrects imbalances, promoting better postural alignment and reduced associated discomfort.
-
Joint mobility issues: altered joint mobility may result in reduced range of motion or stiffness; assessment and treatment assist in improving joint mobility and function.
-
Rehabilitation and recovery: myotherapy plays a pivotal role in rehabilitation following injury, surgery, or trauma; assisting in restoring function and reduction of pain.
-
Stress related conditions: stress can manifest as muscular tension and pain, myotherapy can assist in the management of stress related muscular holding patterns, promoting relaxation.
Numerous techniques are utilised in practice:
-
Soft tissue manipulation: a variety of soft tissue manipulation techniques may be utilised including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release. These techniques are targeted for your specific complaint and act to relieve tight muscles, muscular adhesions, pain relief, improve circulation and restore optimum muscular function
-
Joint mobilization: utilised where joint restrictions are assessed; joint mobilizations improve range and ease of motion, joint restrictions, and improve joint function.
-
Dry needling: utilised where trigger points or tight muscles are assessed as contributing to your symptoms; dry needling releases muscular adhesions, reduces pain and improves blood circulation. This technique can aid in managing chronic pain, reducing muscle spasm and release of trigger points.
-
Prescriptive exercises: home exercises are often prescribed depending on your individual requirements; these may aim to lengthen tight muscles, strengthen under- facilitated muscles, correct postural imbalances and improve overall body mechanics promoting long- term pain relief and prevent risk of future injury.
MASSAGE
Massage offers a myriad of benefits for your mind, body and spirit.
Massage has numerous benefits including:
Relieving stress and anxiety
Life’s demands can take a toll on our mental and emotional wellbeing. Massage allows space for you to let go of stress and unwind. Massage engages the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, reducing the stress response and promoting deep relaxation and a sense of calm.
Improve sleep quality
Good quality sleep is optimal for overall well- being, yet many struggle with insomnia or disrupted sleep patterns. The release of endorphins and serotonin during massage enhances the body’s natural sleep-inducing mechanisms, allowing you to experience more restful and rejuvenating sleep.
Increase circulation and detoxification
Relaxation increases blood flow and lymphatic circulation. This aids in the removal of toxins and metabolic waste from the body. Improved circulation brings oxygen and nutrients to cells, enhancing their vitality.
Boost immune function
Chronic stress can weaken the immune system, making us more susceptible to illness. Relaxation massage supports the immune system by reducing stress hormones such as cortisol that have a delirious impact on immune cells.
Nurture emotional well- being
The power of touch is profound, releasing hormones including endorphins and oxytocin which promote happiness and safety. Relaxation massage provides a nurturing space where you can reconnect with yourself, fostering emotional well- being and a heightened sense of self- awareness.
